動詞用法錯誤，為學生最常見之文法錯誤之一，以下舉一些常見錯誤為例：
ex. We haven’t discussed in detail.
(誤。discuss為及物動詞，必須加上受詞。)
➝ We haven’t discussed the matter in detail.
(正確。「我們尚未詳細討論此事。」)
ex. The accident was similar to one that was happened last year.
(誤。happen為不及物動詞，不能用被動語態。)
➝ The accident was similar to one that happened last year.
(正確。「這個事故和去年發生的一個事故類似。」)
ex. I disagree some points made by the supporters of globalization.
(誤。disagree為不及物動詞，不能直接接受詞some points。)
➝ I disagree with some points made by the supporters of globalization.
(正確。「我不同意全球化支持者的一些看法。」)
ex. Many museums and libraries are depended entirely on donations from the public.
(誤。depend on是不及物動詞組，不可用被動語態。)
➝ Many museums and libraries depend entirely on donations from the public.
(正確。「很多博物館和圖書館完全依賴民眾捐款。」)
ex. A successful organization should not be consisted entirely of older people.
(誤。consist of本身即為被動語意，且為不及物動詞組，不可用被動語態。)
➝ A successful organization should not consist entirely of older people.
(正確。「一個成功的企業不應該完全由老人組成。」)
ex. We should not deny children that they have the opportunity to study what they like.
(誤。deny在此為授與動詞用法，後面直接受詞必須接名詞。)
➝ We should not deny children the opportunity to study what they like.
(正確。「我們不應該否決孩子學習他們喜歡的東西的機會。」)
ex. This photograph makes me to look like 60.
(誤。使役動詞後面不加to。)
➝ This photograph makes me look like 60.
(正確。「這張照片我看起來像60歲。」)
ex. Whether we like it or not, our families shape our lives and make us to be what we are.
(誤。to be為贅字，make句型為make + O + OC。)
➝ Whether we like it or not, our families shape our lives and make us what we are.
(正確。「不管我們是否喜歡，我們的家庭塑造了我們的生活，讓我們成為現在的自己。」)
ex. Most children are seemed to be better at remembering bad habits, instead of good ones.
(誤。seem英文沒有被動語態。)
➝ Most children seem to be better at remembering bad habits, instead of good ones.
(正確。「大部分小孩看起來比較容易記得壞習慣，而不是好習慣。」)
