英文單字一字多義5 

英文單字常有一字多義的情形,但通常我們都只認識其中一個主要語義,對於其他的意涵都不甚了解。這是非常可惜的事,因為單字的其他附屬語義對於寫作常能產生畫龍點睛的神效。所以未來同學們查字典時,不妨將單字認識更徹底些,透過字詞例句,了解該字的所有用法,相信你的寫作功力將會更上一層樓!

精選寫作用字 

1. hail

a. 冰雹

El Nino has multiplied the chance of seeing untimely hail, which could easily ravage the crops. 

(聖嬰現象已使冰雹不適時發生的機會倍增,容易損壞農作物。)

b. 譽為…、讚揚

Roger Federer is hailed as the greatest tennis player ever.

2. hardy

a. 耐用的
