在雅思與托福考試中，博物館是很常見的考題。
IELTS 10 TEST 2 的第三篇閱讀: Museums of fine art and their public 中，提到 “The fact that people go to the Louvre museum in Paris to see the original painting Mona Lisa when they can see a reproduction anywhere leads us to question some assumptions about the role of museums of fine art in today’s world.”
在這篇閱讀中，再次出現很常見的 Leonardo da Vinci 還有 Mona Lia 與 the Louvre (羅浮宮)。
世界上知名的博物館，考生一定需要認識的，就是 the Louvre 和 the British Museum (大英博物館）與 the Metropolitan Museum of Art (大都會藝術博物館)。 其次還有 Musée d’Orsay (奧賽博物館), Guggenheim Museum (古根漢博物館）。
而到倫敦觀光或生活，絕對不能錯過的就是：the British Museum, the National Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum ( V&A), Tate Modern, the Natural History Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts (RA)
其中，Leonardo da Vinci 有名的筆記本，就靜靜地放在 Victoria and Albert Museum 一個不起眼的小角落。 參觀者可以從筆記本旁放置的鏡子去試圖解讀 da Vinci 有名的鏡向書寫法 (mirror writing)。
而較靠近台灣考生的知名博物館，當然就是台北故宮 (the National Palace Museum) 。
