Turtle 和 tortoise 誰是誰？
有什麼差別？
2022年5月的托福口說中有一題說到 tortoise 的 adaptation
巧的是，6月的雅思聽力有一整個大題在討論用兩組不同的 tortoises 做研究的結果比較。
所以 turtle 和 tortoise 到底差別在哪？
簡單來說，turtle 在中文裡比較多是指烏龜
而tortoise 是陸龜
更明確一點的差異(如圖）
turtle 的四肢會是 flippers (鰭肢)，但 tortoise 則是 foot
turtle 的殼較平，tortoise 的殼會是dome-shaped (圓頂狀的)
turtle 一般是 omnivore (雜食動物)，tortoise 是 herbivore (草食動物)
